Headteacher's End of Term Message
Dear Parent/Carer,
As we reach the end of our very first term at Melksham House, I would like to take a moment to celebrate everything we have achieved together so far. Opening a new school is always an exciting and challenging journey, and I am incredibly proud of how our pupils, staff, and families have embraced the start of this new chapter.
Term 1 has been filled with growth, resilience, and community spirit. Our pupils have settled in wonderfully, developing positive relationships, building confidence, and showing increasing engagement in their learning. For many, this has been a period of adjustment and courage—particularly for those overcoming barriers to attendance and re-engaging with education. Our dedicated staff have worked tirelessly to create a safe, nurturing environment where every young person can belong, thrive, and achieve.
As we look ahead to Term 2, we will continue to build on this strong foundation—focusing on emotional regulation, social connection, and continued academic progress. There are some exciting projects planned, including a visit from Kris- Tropical Discovery Workshops, which we know will further enrich our pupils’ experiences.
I would also like to take this opportunity to remind families of our attendance and absence procedures. Regular attendance is key to maintaining positive routines and emotional stability for our pupils.
- If your child is unwell or unable to attend school, please contact the school office by 8:30am on each day of absence on 01225 800388.
- For planned absences, such as medical appointments, please notify us in advance where possible.
- Our team is always here to offer support where attendance or morning routines are challenging—please do reach out to your child’s key adult or the senior leadership team if you need help.
Thank you once again for your ongoing support and trust as we establish our school community. Together, we are building something truly special—one that values connection, understanding, and progress for every young person.
I wish all our pupils and families a restful and happy break, and I look forward to welcoming everyone back for Term 2 on Tuesday 4th November.
Best wishes,
Beckie Deacon
Headteacher
